Yes, it's an Aprilia Tuareg "600", which is actually 560cc, chosen because a) it was cheap, b) came with a ton of spares, c) is a simple carburrated single.
The engine is a Rotax unit, as used in the bikes the Army have. It is a very well built four valve belt cam drive single, which I hope will give no bother. The frame is all steel and the rest looks pretty tough.
I have totally stripped it, and the frame has been modified to take another sidestand on the right. The tank is a shade over 18 litres so should be big enough(?) and has had a cross pipe added. There are crash bars to be fitted with bottles, and an alloy bash plate. Panniers are to be decided yet.

Charging socket for laptop in pannier

Towza at towzatronics has done a superbly neat jop of wiring in two charging points in the fairing and one in the pannier for a laptop. They are all marine quality fittings with a QD connector, again waterproof, fitted to enable the pannier to be removed for shipping. Contact Towza for all of your mobile wiring needs on your bike. It makes my efforts look like spaghetti.

Pannier frames

Here she is nearly there, just the jerrycans to add in front of the panniers. Have chosen alloy ones as they were reasonably cheap (ALPOS) and more secure for laptop etc. TOWZATRONICS are going to wire in a charging system for the Laptop and GPS plus camera battery charging. Many thanks to Eric at Dream Machine for fabrication of the pannier frames, right side additional stand and bashplate. He has done a fantastic job. The additional water bottle carriers were already on the crash bars that came with the bike, made by a previous owner, along with the modified front subframe to accept them.
I took the bike up to a friends in Yorkshire in a downpour. Bike went well even when nearly submerged then the fuel line fell off going to work the following Monday. Hey Ho!
